These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Silver State Renovations website and the services we provide. By accessing our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Quotes and estimates
All quotes are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time of assessment. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. If the scope of work changes or unforeseen conditions are discovered (such as hidden damage, extensive rot, or additional prep work required), we will discuss the change with you before proceeding and may issue a revised quote.
3. Bookings and scheduling
Once you accept a quote, we will confirm a start date. We will do our best to keep to the agreed schedule, however, timelines may be affected by weather, material availability, or other circumstances beyond our control. We will keep you informed of any changes.
4. Payment terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- A deposit may be required to secure your booking
- Progress payments may be requested on larger jobs
- The final balance is due on completion of the work
- Invoices are payable within 7 days of issue
- We accept bank transfer and other agreed payment methods
5. Variations and additional work
Any additional work requested beyond the original scope will be quoted separately. Additional work will not begin until the variation has been agreed by both parties.
6. Access to the property
You agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the property for the duration of the work. This includes access to power, water, and any areas that need to be prepared or protected. If access is delayed or prevented, we may need to adjust the schedule or charge for lost time.
7. Workmanship warranty
We stand behind our work. All workmanship is backed by a 5-year workmanship warranty as part of our Master Painters NZ membership. This warranty covers defects in our workmanship, but does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by others after completion
- Substrate defects or building movement
- Products supplied by the client
- Failure to follow our care and maintenance recommendations
Warranty claims must be made in writing within the warranty period.
8. Materials and paint products
We use premium paint products from reputable suppliers such as Dulux and Resene. Paint colour matching, substrate outcomes, and product performance may vary slightly from sample swatches or photos. This is normal and does not constitute a defect.
9. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled start date may incur a charge to cover costs already committed to the job.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the services we provide is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.
11. Website use
The content on our website is provided for general information. While we take care to keep information accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that everything is complete, current, or error-free. We reserve the right to change content at any time without notice.
12. Intellectual property
